Feasibility study approved for next 60.000 hectares

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have issued a Certificate of Approval of Feasibility Study for development of another 60 000 hectares. This is a big leap forward for Burapha and the forestry future of Laos.

It is the Director General of Department of Forestry, Mr Sousath SAYAKOUMMANE, who has approved the Feasibility Study for the next 60 000 hectares. Currently Burapha has the right to develop 10 000 hectares, out of which 5 300 hectares are planted after year 2020 planting season.

The study will be looking at 3 forest production areas in the provinces of Vientiane and Xaiyaboury. These are good areas since they are in the proximity of the plywood factory which currently is being built in Hin Hoeup.

One of the purposes of the study is to verify that Burapha´s operation and agro-forestry model provide economic, social, and environmental advantages, for the benefit of the local communities, the government, the investors, and not the least - Mother Nature.
